Biography
Percy Aldridge Grainger wrote music for winds especially with an emphasis on woodwinds, including many oboes, basoons, and clarinets. He wrote a series of Hillsongs, arranged many Scottish folk songs, and perhaps is best known for Lincolnshire Posy.
He spent his life traveling through the Britain and collecting folk songs from hill folk. He often would write the music purposely out of tune or time in order to recreate the effect of the innacurate and imprecise hillfolk.
