Jean Goldenbaum’s first symphony was composed in 2009. It is a symphony in five movements titled “Symphony of the Good” with each movement giving insight into the beliefs and values of the composer. The five movements are entitled “Overture”, “Pacifism”, “Vegetarianism”, “End of Egoism – Beginning of Respect”, and “Awareness of Good and Evil”. It is a symphony filled with emotion, lyricism, and beauty. In addition to the Symphony of the Good, among his most representative works are his Ecumenical Suite (a cappella choir, edited by Ikuro Edition) and his chamber series Gedankenexperimentmusik.
Life
Jean Goldenbaum the German-Brazilian composer was born in São Paulo in 1982 and began his musical studies at the age of ten. His desire to create drove him to dedicate his career to composition. He is currently writing his doctoral thesis in musicology at the University of Augsburg (Germany) where he also holds lectures and speeches. His music has been presented mostly in Germany and Brazil. His “Symphony of the Good” has recently been recorded very successfully.
