Music

Biography

Blas Galindo was one of the four members of the group The Four. He studied counterpoint and composition with José Rolón and Carlos Chavez. He also had some composition lessons with Aron Copland at Tangelwood. Together with Pablo Moncayo, Daniel Ayala and Salvador Contreras he founded an organized the "Grupo de los Cuatro" (Group of The Four) for the promotion of mordern music in Mexico and South America. From 1942 to 1961 he was Professor in music and Director of the National Conservatory of Mexico. In 1955 he became Conductor of the Mexican institute of Social Security, México City.
