Music

John Field is especially know for his piano music. He was the first to write nocturnes, who were the prime inspiration for Chopin’s. Field was influenced by Muzio Clementi. In fact, he was far more than influenced by Clementi: he was one of Clementi’s most gifted students. Field traveled with his teacher throughout Europe performing Clementi’s music.
