Life
Hans van Eck (1958) studied electronic music at the Institute for Sonology, Utrecht with Jaap Vink. He also studied Musicology at the City University of Amsterdam with prof. F. Noske, drs. Waltmans and dr. L Landy. He graduated cum laude on a thesis about Johann Jacob Froberger. He got private lessons in Composition from Daan Manneke. From 1976 on he composes music for different scorings of instruments, sometimes in combination with electronic sounds.
Recently his music was performed by the Aquarius Ensemble conducted by Lucas Vis. He is a guest lecturer at the ‘Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht’, Department oF Music Technology. As producer/recording technician/composer he collaborated with Hans van Koolwijk in the realisation of the CD ‘Bambuso Sonoro’. Hans van Eck is one of the founders of the ‘Schreck-Ensemble’, for electro-acoustical music.
His music focusses on emotional apeal and colourful perspectives. His interest in colours is prominent in his collaboration with Norbert Wissing in the arrangements of classical works.
