Biography
He was the eldest son and pupil of his father, Solomon Eccles. Was a violinist and composer. Master of the King’s Music/Band from 1700. He wrote charming songs, and these and some of his keyboard music are occasionally to be heard. Composed music for "Don Quixote", 1694 (with Purcell), and other stage works; songs; instrumental pieces; pedagogical works for harpsichord and violin.
