Editorial Review:

Album Description:
Tidal Storm is a riveting CD of virtuosic contemporary classical music for piano. With Tidal Storm, Minthorn opens us to wonderful musical vistas, at times reminding us of Bartok (folklore), Debussy (soundscape), Barber (wild ostinatos), and the syncopated rhythms and harmonies of jazz. "This is music to win the hearts of even the most hardened contemporary music haters!", says La Scena Musicale.

Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wonderful
This is a wonderful disc for anyone who likes classical and jazz music but wants something with a modern twist. Don't worry it isn't that really hard listening music. It is very fresh and alive. The Children's Games are funny and witty. It is kind of like Ravel meets Thelonius Monk. Bravo Timothy!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Finally
Finally there is a contemporary classical CD out there with substance that is also easy to listen to and still virtuosic. For any person who wants a classical piano disc that is modern in sound but not hard to understand then this CD is for you. Tidal Storm has so much character. If you like Ravel and Shostokovitch then you will love this CD. Minthorn is definitely a modern living composer worth paying attention to.
