Life
Born in Spokane Washington. Learned to play trombone in grammar and high school under Clark A. Evans. Studied trombone with Wendell Exline and Dr. George Lotzenhiser at Eastern Washington University. Studied Music Theory and Composition with Jean Sharp at EWU. Graduated in 1967 with a BA in Applied Music and a BA in Composition and Theory. Played Bass Trombone with The Spokane Symphony Orchestra from 1957 to 1967. Earned a BA in Music Education at the University of Washington. Taught music in the common schools in the State of Washington from 1970 to 1988. Been a salesman of this and that, an inventory controller, and a court reporter--in addition to teaching. Also played Horn with the Grays Harbor Symphony and the Allied Arts Orchestra. Played Violin and Viola with the Evergreen Orchestra. Since 1999, I have been fully retired, devoting all my time to writing music and enjoying my three grandsons.
