Music

Dastmalchi’s two favorite Genres of composition are Ragtime and Classical. He mostly compose for video games, films/TV, radio, and the Internet. He would love to have his music published and performed worldwide by symphonies, orchestras, concert bands, and pianists.

Life

Adam Dastmalchi was born on October, 14, 1988 in Mobile, Alabama. His parents divorced when he was two years old. He moved to Seguin, Texas with his mother with his grandmother, and she remarried when he was four years old. He was a bratty child, you could say, and was very ill-mannered. He is bipolar with Tourette’s syndrome and OCD. He has always had a desirable ear for any kind of music, and he started creating music on the piano at the age of four. When he first had the opportunity to play the recorder in the first grade, he composed various melodies! He learned the saxophone at the age of 11 and has been playing it since.

During his undergraduate college career so far, he has learned bass clarinet, violin, and guitar. He originally started off as a Music Education major at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. As an education major, he joined a division of The National Association for Music Education (MENC) entitled Music Educators at Texas State (METS). However, his only current membership is with ASCAP.

Dastmalchi hopes to compose for the rest of his life as a film score and video game composer. Currently he is learning more woodwind and brass instruments as well. In the future, he hopes to be an instructor for college-level music composition.
