Born in Laghouat in the Algerian Sahara. Painter as of his young age, it is only at age the 18 years that Salim Dada acquires these first concepts of music with the guitarist Ali Gourine, to carry out after and during 10 years a course of autodidact, where it improves his technique of classical guitar, studies the Western and Eastern theory as well as the harmony. For this period it presented these first compositions for guitar solo and duet as well as whole with violin and oud. Between 2002 and 2005 it thorough the cycle of the musical writing (harmony, counterpoint and analyze) with the composer Jean-Luc Kuczynski at the school “Polyphonies” of France and with the academician Golnara Bouyagoub at the Higher National institute of the Music of Algiers. In this period it obtains also its Doctorate of the Medical Faculty of Algiers.

Salim Dada is the author of several symphonic compositions, part and chamber music for guitar, also for polyphonic choral societies and whole of jazz. It also carries a great interest to the film music, the ballet and the theatre.

In 2007 and for the first time in Algeria, Salim Dada was appointed “Type-setter in Residence” near the Algerian National Symphony orchestra, with which it created several new compositions.

The compositions of Salim Dada were preceded in several Contests and Festivals national and international. They were played and commissioned by various ensembles and orchestras: the Algerian National Symphony orchestra, the Algerian Republican Guard, the Orchestra of the Young Musicians of Algiers, the Symphony orchestra of Cairo, the Arab Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, the Euro-Mediterranean Orchestra, the Baby Orchestrated Academy of Torino, the Italian Ensemble “Conductus”…

Apart from the composition, Salim Dada shares its love and its knowledge of the music by the teaching of the modules of the Musical Writing (Harmony, Contrepoint and Polyphony) at the institutes of music of Algiers and our, as well as the teaching of the classical guitar. It also ensures the direction and the framing of the orchestras of traditional musics, where it plays old instruments such as the oud, kwitra and the percussions.

It also publishes and in a periodic way of the articles of musical analysis and artistic criticism.

The music of Salim Dada was considered in Europe as a “Bridge” which connect the Occident to the East, and a message of peace and of dialogue of the Islamic world towards Europe.
