Life
Walter Thomas Gaze Cooper (“Gaze Cooper”, also called “GC”) was an army driver during the 1914–1918 war, but was gassed and invalided out. He attended the Royal Academy of Music, and later the Midland Consevatoire of music. He lectured on orchestration at the University College of Nottingham, and founded the Midland Consevatoire of music orchestra symphonies, which became in 1942 the Nottingham Symphony Orchestra.
