Music

Lou Cohen’s compositions from 1960–1994 are serial and aleotoric, for acoustic instruments. Since 1994 all but one composition is electronic.

Life

Lou Cohen studied with John Cage in 1958, collaborated with Christian Wolff from 1960–1963, then composed in isolation for 40 years. He became active again around 1994 and both composes and performs computer-based music. Cohen is co-director of the Opensound concert series in Boston.
