Life
Carlo Ciceri was born in La Spezia, Italy, in 1980.
He graduated in Piano (La Spezia), Musicology (Cremona) and “Conducting for contemporary music” with G. Bernasconi (Lugano).
After a long period of studies as an autodidact, in the last years he started to attend different courses, expecially in France, Italy and Switzerland, in order to go into different aspects of “composing“: instrumental and orchestral techniques, the elettronic and electroacustic fields and the aesthetic; J. Baboni Schilingi, N. Vassena and G. Verrando has been his teachers.
At the same time he followed various composition masterclasses (Ircam, Acanthes, Impuls-Akademie, Irmus) during which he met, among the others, B. Furrer, S. Gervasoni, K. Huber, and H. Lachenmann.
He has been awarded at several competition: the “Ensemble Maderna Kompositionspreis“, the “Festival Culturescapes“, the ”Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award”, “Zeitklang 2008“, “Camillo Togni“, “Kompositionswettbewerb 2008 für Kammerensemble unter Einbeziehung der Wellenfeldsynthese”.
His works have been performed by, among the others, ensemble recherche, dédalo ensemble, Ex-novo Ensemble, Zürcher Kammerorchester. Divertimento ensemble, ensemble bit-20, ensemb le Vortex, Orchestra di Milano Classica, ensemble XX Jahrhundert.
