Music

Francis Chagrin wrote many pieces in almost all genres.

  • Two completed symphonies
  • Piano concerto
  • Prelude and Fugue
  • Rumanian Fantasy, written for Larry Adler and commercially recorded by him
  • Chamber music
  • Songs in English and French

He wrote numerous commercial pieces, including 200 films scores, television (including a Dr Who in 1964) and many commercials.

Chagrin also contributed to Gerard Hoffnung concerts with items like The Ballad of County Down.

In 1963 Francis Chagrin was elected Film Composer of the Year in the Harriet Cohen International Awards.
