he is one of the greatest composers from Guatemala, a Xelaju born, his legacy is still in many musical compositions, specially marimba, the guatemalan national instrument

Life

Jesús Castillo studied with Alejandro and Miguel Espinosa. He also studied with Fernando Soria and Rafael Guzmán. He Mostly devoted himself through his lifetime to research the musical folklore of Guatemala.
