Biography

Ricardo was the half brother of Jesús Castillo. He Studied the violin with A. Lefort from 1912 till 1917. Then he studied harmony with Paul Vidal from 1919 till 1921, in Paris, France. He then returned to his native country and became professor of music, history, harmony and counterpoint at the Cons. of Guatemala in Guatemala City. This postion he held until his retirement shortly before his death in 1966.
