Life

[in Dutch]

Castelnuovo-Tedesco studeerde piano en compositie in Florence. Hij was een romantisch componist in de traditie van Respighi en Richard Strauss; zijn muziek is warm en gracieus, vaak virtuoos en direct. Zijn joodse afkomst dwong hem te verhuizen naar de Verenigde Staten in 1939. Zijn werken zijn nog steeds grotendeels ongepubliceerd en omvatten acht opera’s, veel filmmuziek, balletten, oratoria, ouverturen, liederen en kamermuziek.
