Sabicas

Hi
I grew up next to sabicas he was my sisters godfather. My Father Pedro Cortes senior and Sabicas were compadres. He died in NYC and Paco de Lucia picked him up ,,after his death and took him to Pamplona were he was born. The only three Spanish Gypsy families living in NYC during the 60,s were Mario Escudero, Sabicas, and my father Pedro Cortes. After Ramon Montoya I would say that Sabicas was one of the biggest innovators of the Flamenco Guitar. Sabicas alongside Carlos montoya and Mario Escudero made Flamenco Guitar a respected concert Intrument.
