Life

Zoran Bozanic (Belgrade, Serbia), a composer, performer, theorist and assistant at the Kragujevac Faculty of music art. He finished secondary music school in Kragujevac - the Department of Accordion, in 1990 (class of prof. R. Tomic).

He graduated in composition and accordion at the P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Kiev (Ukraine) in 1995, class of prof. G. Liasenko (composition) and V. Bulavko (accordion). In 1999 he continued his postgraduate studies at the Belgrade Music Academy - the Department of Composition and Orchestra in class of prof. R. Maksimovic (graduated 2002.).

He won six first prizes at republic and federal competitions for accordion performers. He is also a laureate of numeros competitions in Italy and France. He is an active concert performer. He has performed throughout Yugoslavia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and Italy. Many pieces originally written for accordion were for the first time performed in public by this artist. He is a participant of Yugoslavia’s greatest festivals of contemporary music, both as a soloist and a member of a chamber ensemble.

He wrote symphonic, chamber and choir pieces, and many composicions for varius instruments. His composicions have been performed in Yugoslavia, Ukraraine, Bulgaria, Spain... A piece "Toccata" for solo accordion was a mandatory piece at the International competition "World cup" 2000. He is an author of a theoretical paper "Musical phrase" that deals with problems of interpretation.
