Wolfgang Bottenberg, a native of Germany who is a naturalized Canadian, teaches composition at Concordia University in Montreael, Canada. He is actively engaged in the study and performance of historical styles of music. A search for the roots of western music led him to development of polyphonic styles. He has also become active as a builder of replicas of historical stringed instruments. More recently, he has become involved in creating music theatre, and in the pedagogy of contrapuntal composition. Some of his works are available through Conners Publications.
