Music
Borlenghi’s music ranging from theatrical to chamber music, also including symphonic works. His opera Moresca won in 1954 the Prize of the National competition held by the Opera Centre of Tuscany. Partucular noted are his works:
- Piano Concerto,
- Divertimento for orchestra,
- Il Sacro Cammino (a cantata for reciting voice, solos, choir and orchestra),
- Due Impressioni (for string orchestra)
His work is called "with a lively and spontaneous temperament". In his music modern elements melting into the music.
The "Cantata Il Sacro Cammino" and "Due Impressioni" are available on a CD Bongiovanni GB 5022-2.
Life
Graduated in composition, piano and choral music, having studied first with his father and later, after his father’s death, in Firenze (Florence) under Guido Guerrini (composition) and Ernesto Consolo (piano). He then specialized in composition, following lessons from Franco Alfano. Since 1941 he devoting himself to teaching in Florence at the Conservatorio L. Cherubini (harmony, piano) and then as a professor of harmony, counterpoint and composition at the L. Boccherini School of Music in Lucca. From 1970-1977 he was appointed there a a director.
