Life
Philippe Bodin earned his Doctorate of Musical Arts from Yale University School of Music where he studied with Martin Bresnick, Jacob Druckman, and Nicholas Maw.
His work, commissioned by the Eroica, Mannes, Mojave and Kungsbacka (Sweden) trios, the Orkest de Volharding (Netherlands), the Da Capo Chamber Players, the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, Reijer Dorresteijn, Genevieve Lee, and the Utah Arts Festival, has been recognized with awards from the Lutoslawski International Competition (Warsaw 2005), the Mario Bernardo Angelo Comneno Competition (Rome 2006), the Homage to Mozart International Competition (Moscow 2006); and grants from the American Music Center, the Argosy and Mandel Foundations and the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition.
Born in France, Philippe currently lives in Brooklyn, USA.
