Life
Virtuose trombone player and composer. He also improved the instrument.
He was born in Firenze Italy and began the study of flute with his father. Later joined a theatre orchestra in Perogla. In 1827 Bimboni joined the band of the 2nd Tuscan Regiment. In 1854 he entered service with the grand Duke of Tuscany. In 1846 he performed with Johann Strauss in Vienna. From 1840 to 1866 he was the leader of the National Guard band (1859). He wrote numerous pieces for band including the Concerto Brilliante for Trombone on the Carnival of Venice.
