Vincenzo Bellavere composed keyboard toccatas, madrigals and church music.

Recording:

His Madrigal “Quandro sarà mai quel zorno” is recorded by The Hilliard Ensemble on “Italian and English Madrigals”, Virgin Veritas x2, catalogue no. 7243 5 61671 2.

Life

The Italian composer Vincenzo Bellavere, also known as Vincenzo Bell’Haver, was a pupil of Andrea Gabrieli whom he succeeded in 1556 as first organist of San Marco (St Mark’s dome, the patriarchal cathedral of Venice).
