Life

P.D.Q. Bach did not live backwards in time. The confusion is caused by an error on his grave marker, which had the dates carved in reverse order. (thanks Troy M. <cleotalk(at)aol.com>)

P.D.Q. is a creation of composer Peter Schickele.

We know from Prof. Schickele’s biography that P.D.Q. expired on 5 May 1807. No day of birth is given, but it seems to me that he must have been born on 1 April (1742).
