Arbi Baboumian was only 3 when started playing piano. His teacher was his father Mr. Parkef Baboumian. He succeeded to have his first performance at 6.
In 1996 he entered the Komitas conservatory of Yerevan and started his education in composition, conducting and classic vocal under the high supervision of his masters, professors Aghajanian and Mirzoian.
In 2001 Baboumian graduated with high degrees of Master of Arts when he returned in Iran. He gathered the students of art schools and established a big orchestra, which absorbed many experienced performance. It took place with Isfahan symphonic orchestra, which was supported by Arpa music center.
He conducted many concerts during that period. In 2003 he returned to Yerevan and continued his education. His professor was Maestro Aram Gharabekian.
In 2005 he was graduated as PhD in compositions and as Master of Art in symphonic-opera orchestra conducting.
His thesis was the orchestration of two Iranian melodies in modern and dodecaphonic style; also he examined the atonal music effects on Armenian folk songs.
He has his personal publications <Piano Jazz Improvising>.
Now he is teaching Composition, Counterpoint, and Solfeggio at the Tehran Conservatory and also he is Mr. Majid Entezami’s assistant at the Isfahan (Hoze) symphonic orchestra.
