Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
This is a collection of Italian vocal music of the 16th century, and the performances by the Hueglas Ensemble under the direction of Paul van Nevel are excellent. Italian music from this period tends to be richer, more decorative, and more eclectic than that from France or Flanders, and the singers make the most of the music's alluring colors and sometimes eccentric designs. --Joshua Cody

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Beautiful singing, beautiful music
The Huelgas Ensemble is a wonderfully unified ensemble, and they have found some real gems to group together on this CD. If you enjoy listening to Renaissance music but are sick of the same old standards, you're bound to enjoy this--the tracks on the CD range from frivolous to serious, and all are expertly executed. Highly recommended.
